2022 Energy & Charity Run

On 24 September 2022, the US-China Energy Cooperation Program (ECP) and the Beijing Marathon Association (BMA) successfully held the second “Energy & Charity Run” at Marathon Camp in the Beijing Winter Olympic Park.  More than 200 runners from over 40 well-known energy companies and partners signed up to participate, including ConocoPhillips, AMD, National Energy Shale Oil Research and Development Center, CHN Energy, PowerChina International Group, China Huaneng Group, CREIA, Peking University Institute of Energy, China Academy of Building Research, Boeing, Cummins, Altec, Asia Green Fund, Herbalife, Beijing Mingde Hospital and embassies. As the original intention of the charity run was to help sustainable public welfare, the 20,000 RMB  registration fees received from this year’s charity run, were all donated to the Red Cross Society of Qingshui County, Gansu Province, for the local Panlong Primary School under the coordination of the International Department of the National Energy Administration.

ECP and some member companies have launched the Energy & Charity Initiative since 2016 to actively share the work and contributions of energy and environmental companies in the public interest. From 2017 to 2022, ECP, together with member companies such as Westinghouse, ConocoPhillips and Emerson insinkerator, organized the “Energy & Charity” series of events.

As a popular energy sector activity, the “Energy & Charity Run” aims to build an exchange and cooperation platform for energy sector stakeholders, environmental protection and public welfare, calling on more energy enterprises and individuals to make more effort “for health, for nature and for future”, work together to take action in low carbon and green energy, and actively promote the low carbon and green energy transformation and sustainable development. Let us forge friendship, strengthen cooperation, and practiceandpromote green and sustainable development!
