ECP Chengdu Business Outreach

US-China Energy Cooperation Program (ECP) visited Chengdu for business investigation from October 10 to 11, 2017, together with representatives from United Technologies, Nucloud, EATON, Dow Chemicals, Cummins, Autodesk and other ECP member companies. US Consul General in Chengdu, Jim Mullinax, USTDA Director of Program Management, East Asia Region, Steven Winkates, and Commercial Counselor of U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu, Francis Peters, took an active part in the business visit. Standing Committee Member of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Party Secretary of Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, Fan Ruiping, Standing Committee Member and Secretary General of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, Gou Zhengli, Deputy Mayor of Chengdu Municipal Government and Secretary of Party Working Committee of Chengdu High-tech Zone, Fan Yi, Deputy President of Chengdu Municipal CPPCC and Secretary of Party Working Committee, Chengdu Tianfu New Area, Yang Linxing, Director of Chengdu Foreign Affairs Office, Jiang Bin, and heads of Chengdu Economic and Information Commission, Chengdu Environmental Protection Bureau, Chengdu Investment Promotion Commission, Tianfu International Airport Corporation, Chengdu Rail Transit Corporation and Management Committee of Chengdu Tianfu New Area attended the bilateral meeting on the afternoon of October 10. On October 11, the ECP mission visited Chengdu Rail Transit Corporation, Tianfu International Airport Headquarters and Tianfu New Area, and held discussions with Chengdu Economic and Information Commission and Foreign Investment Commission.

ECP Chengdu Business Outreach has laid the groundwork for ECP member companies to expand their investment and business cooperation in Chengdu, especially on urban infrastructure construction. Since Chengdu is a gateway city opening to west and south China as well as one of China’s national central cities in the future, US-China clean energy cooperation has been going on in Chengdu for a long time. This business outreach will surely help ECP member companies get actively involved in Chengdu’s infrastructure construction and facilitate practical cooperation and projects between US and Chinese green energy corporations.
