the 24th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT).
The U.S.-China Provincial Economic and
Trade Cooperation and Sustainable Development Exchange Event is one of the annual
activities under the U.S.-China provincial economic and trade cooperation
mechanism. This year’s event was co-hosted by the Xiamen Municipal Government,
Fujian Department of Commerce, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export
of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), AmCham China, and AmCham South
China, with ECP as a co-organizer and support from the Bay Area Council in
California. Approximately 200 representatives from local governments and
business sectors from both countries attended, including participants from Tianjin,
Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian,
Shandong, Hunan, Guangdong, Chongqing, Sichuan, and Shaanxi provinces in China,
as well as California, Maryland, Illinois, Washington, Georgia, and New Jersey
in the United States. Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on two key
topics: the potential for U.S.-China provincial economic and trade cooperation
and urban energy transition and sustainable high-quality development. They
analyzed relevant policies, shared successful case studies, examined
opportunities and challenges in U.S.-China economic and trade relations,
explored practical cooperation opportunities, and held on-site networking
sessions.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Ms. Liu
