ECP Facilitated Energy Business Outreach Trip for International Energy Corporations to Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and Supported Chengdu for its Opening Up in the Energy Cooperation

On May 21–22, 2026, ECP facilitated a business outreach trip for international energy corporations to Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The outreach trip focuses on international cooperation and promoting Chengdu Opening-up in the energy sector. The delegation group of this business outreach trip was consisted by a number of global energy corporations including Cheniere Energy, ConocoPhillips China, Eaton Corporation, Aden Group, and GreenBank. Counterparts including the Chengdu Opening-up and International Cooperation Center (COICC), the China Overseas Development Association(CODA), and the Institute of Global Decarbonization Progress (iGDP) participated and supported this outreach trip.

 

On May 21st, ECP and the Chengdu Opening-up and International Cooperation Center (COICC), has jointly hosted “The Sichuan (Chengdu) Energy Cooperation Workshop” facilitated a high-level dialogue on “The Future of Energy” and bringing together leading global energy players, domestic industry giants, and government representatives at the seminar. Mr. Yin, the Director of COICC participated the event. Director Yang of the Energy Planning Division of the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, delivered a presentation on the current state, development trends, and cooperation opportunities in Chengdu’s energy industry. Experts from Cheniere Energy, ConocoPhillips, PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas field Exploration & Development Research Institute of CNPC covered outlook of the world LNG and natural gas development, as well as cooperation opportunities, Shenzhen Daodu Industry Group provided AI driven Computing and Power Coordination. More than 60 representatives participated this workshop that consisted by government officials, industrial experts, researchers, and representatives from the following companies including CNPC, Sichuan Port and Shipping Investment Group Co., Ltd (SPSI), Sichuan Energy Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd, Shudao Group, and China Eastern Electric Group Co., Ltd (DEC), Western Industry Integration Center, Jinyi Hydrogen, and Sea Pioneers, etc. The symposium concluded with a networking session where participating organizations introduced their respective businesses and explored potential collaborations.

On May 22, the business delegation has conducted visits to a number of site visits to the following companies including a concrete meeting with SPSI for discussions on integrated port energy solutions, LNG storage and transport, green logistics, and low-carbon port development, and followed by a visit to Yungang Logistic Park; A site visit to New Century Global Center Distributed Energy Station, China’s largest CCHP project, examining efficient utilization of natural gas distributed energy in large public buildings; and a visit to Teld (Sichuan) for its smart EV charging facilities and energy microgrid exhibition hall.

International enterprises gained a deeper understanding of Chengdu’s energy market and policy environment. Multiple preliminary cooperation intentions were established in areas including LNG storage and transport infrastructure, distributed energy project development, and zero-carbon park technical solutions. The event further strengthened the collaboration mechanism between ECP, local government agencies, and industry players. ECP will continue to facilitate thematic matchmaking events, technical seminars, and international research missions to support Chengdu as a globally influential hub for green energy cooperation.
